About Services
I provide speech and language assessment and therapy services for preschool and school-aged children in Pictou County, NS.
I work full-time as a school-based speech-language pathologist, but offer part-time private practice services on select weekday evenings and weekends.
Sessions can take place in-clinic in Stellarton or through home visits, offering flexibility and comfort for your child and family.
I offer services for the following communication areas:
- early language development
- speech sound disorders
- receptive & expressive language
- stuttering acceptance & understanding
- AAC (Alternative & augmentative communication)
I use a client-centered and strength-based approach when working with clients. As part of this, I am committed to providing neurodiversity-affirming services to neurodivergent individuals and their families and carers. As part of fulfilling this commitment, I continue my lifelong learning through reading, completing courses, and connecting with individuals with lived experience.
Laura Zentner, M.Sc., SLP-Reg, SLP(C)
Hi, I'm Laura (she/her). I am a registered Speech-Language Pathologist with the Nova Scotia Regulator of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists (NSRASLP) and I'm also certified through Speech-Language & Audiology Canada (SAC).
I obtained a Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree in Psychology from Acadia University in 2015 and a Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Dalhousie University in 2018. Following completion of my Master’s, I gained experience offering speech and language assessment and treatment to children/adolescents across a wide range of settings. I began my career at Boreal Clinic in Whitehorse, Yukon, where I provided services in hospital, clinic, daycare, home, and school settings. Missing home, I moved back to the east coast and subsequently worked for Nova Scotia Hearing and Speech as part of the autism services team in Cape Breton. In late 2021, I joined the Student Services team with the Chignecto Central Regional Centre for Education and I continue to work there full-time.
